North Korea is Ready to Discuss Denuclearization

North Korean officials have said that Kim Jong Un is open and ready to talk about the denuclearization of the Korean Penninsula. An administration official with Trump said “The U.S. has confirmed that Kim Jong Un is willing to discuss the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula” on Sunday.

A report from CNN on Saturday revealed that Pyongyang and Washington have been communicating in secret in preparation for the meeting between Kim and Trump, which is scheduled for May. Kim has been pushing to have the talks in North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang, however it’s unsure if Trump will agree to travel there. The talks could also be held in Mongolia’s’ capital; Ulaanbaatar.

The talks are coming after a tense year between Kim and Trump, with Trump referring to Kim as “Little Rocket Man” in regards to North Korea’s continued intercontinental missile tests. In retaliation, Kim referred to trump as a dotard.

A “dotard” means an old person, especially one who has become weak or senile
