Trump Agrees To Meet Kim Jong Un

United State’s President Donald Trump has agreed to meet the North Korean supreme leader before May, which both the White House and South Korean national security adviser have confirmed.

“President Trump greatly appreciates the nice words of the South Korean delegation and President Moon. He will accept the invitation to meet with Kim Jong Un at a place and time to be determined. We look forward to the denuclearization of North Korea. In the meantime, all sanctions and maximum pressure must remain,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced in a statement.

This announcement came after North Korea’s supreme leader extended an invitation to Trump when meeting South Korean officials yesterday. If this meeting goes ahead, this will mean that Trump is the first US president to ever meet with North Korea’s leader, which could be a major breakthrough in settling all of the tension between the two countries.

Kim told South Korea that “he is committed to denuclearization” and has also pledged that North Korea will “refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests.” This breakthrough is credited to Kim Jong Un for bringing Pyongyang to the negotiating table.
