Man Being Harassed By Porn Studio Over Privacy Claim

A man said that he is being harassed by major porn studio Malibu who are claiming that he illegally downloaded their content. According to the judge presiding over the case, the company is threatening to subpoena his family and neighbors if the man doesn’t agree to pay the necessary fines.

Malibu is the parent company of porn subscription site X-art, the biggest copyrights lawsuits filer in the United States. The company is forcing the man, who remains unnamed in the case, to admit that he, or someone from his home, had illegally downloaded films using his Wi-Fi from their site. The company is threatening to subpoena everyone living near the accused in order to determine who is downloading the illegal content using the Wi-Fi connection.

The man’s defendant made the following quote regarding the matter: “Malibu is conducting a fishing expedition and campaign of harassment by threatening to depose non-party witnesses on irrelevant topics and to continue to depose (the defendant on the) same. In so doing, Malibu is attempting to prevent ultimate resolution in this matter by creating the false sense that evidence of infringement or wrongdoing exists.”

Malibu, on the other hand, claims that the person responsible for the piracy used military-grade software to remove the data. The case is still ongoing and a result is expected to be seen very soon.
