Woman Dies After Getting Butt Injections From Fake Doctor
34-year-old Kelly Mayhew died after she received butt injections from a fake doctor in a basement in Queens. Reports state that Kelly Mayhew went to the private location in Queens, New York with her mother, Latrice. The two drove from Maryland to Queens for the procedure. While in the basement, an unlicensed doctor injected Mayhew’s buttocks with some kind of substance, which was assumed to be silicone.
During the process, Kelly Mayhew had an allergic reaction and had difficulties breathing. Her mother, Latrice, attempted to give her daughter CPR and immediately suggested that the doctor call 911. Instead, the fake doctor grabbed her keys, ran out of the basement and sped of in a gray SUV. Latrice told police that she thought the doctor was legit and certified and that her daughter had previously received multiple cosmetic procedures on her butt.
Kelly Mayhew was a freelancer at BET Networks and worked out of the network’s Washington, D.C. office. A BET spokesperson released a statement saying they are deeply sadden by the loss of their colleague. “We are saddened by the death of our colleague and friend, Kelly Mayhew. Our hearts go out to her family and we extend our deepest sympathies for their loss.”
