Tyron is the eleventh child of the thirteen children that his mum raised. Tyron was raised by his mum single-handedly in Ferguson, Missouri. While in high school, he competed in two sports; American football and wrestling. But after going to the University of Missouri, Tyron went to wrestling. While in the university, he was twice All-American in wrestling.

MMA (Strikeforce) Career

Woodley fought three mixed martial arts fights before he signed his first six-fight deal with Strikeforce. His first two fights were not associated with Strikeforce, and he fought against Steve Schinder and Jeff Carstens, where he won both fights in the first round. The fight landed him the six-fight contract against Sal Woods, and he took him out in the first round through submission.
