Smugglers Claim £80 Million Worth Of Liquid Meth Is Simply Water

A group of drug smugglers thought they had managed to obtain the perfect setup to smuggle their illegal drugs, but authorities discovered the plan and their product. The bust of the ‘biggest international organized crime syndicate‘ within the world has now taken place.

Officers have confiscated around 20,000 bottles of what they thought to be flavored water. However, the lemon low-calorie health drink was actually liquid meth. The plan appears to be something directly out of a movie. 230kg of meth (methylamphetamine) in liquid form, which was valued at £80 million, was being shipped to Sydney, Australia.

This is not the first smuggling operation that has taken place this year, unfortunately. Colombian police seized 243kg of cocaine within boxes of flowers, which were headed to Europe. An eight-month long investigation results in these two massive busts. According to Sky News, Detective Superintendent Mick Calatzis believes they have “cut the head off the snake“.
