Jockey Loses Pants While Trying To Win Race

What a bummer. Jockey Blake Shinn literally rode off his pants to win a race only to end up in second place. On the bright side, he’s now a hit on social media, especially after pun lovers made him the butt of their jokes.

Shinn accidentally showed off his bum, not only to the jockeys on his rear, but to all the viewers at the Hyland Race Colours Plate at the Canterbury Race Course. The whole ordeal was caught on cameras, for the whole world to see. It all happened when Shinn stood up during the final turn of the first race to give Miss Royale a boost in an attempt to take the lead from Tommy Berry atop Defender.

“They went just after the start and there was nothing I could do,” said Shinn. “I think a lot of people are going to have a bit of fun with this, but they can’t say I wasn’t focused and went to the line.” And he was right. People did not pass up the chance and took to Twitter to post creative jokes about Shinn’s embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.

Shin himself joined the banter saying “Usually I come to the races focused and determined, I didn’t realise people thought I was that cheeky.“
