Van Halen’s David Lee Roth Cuts Nose Open During Performance

During a performance on Hollywood Boulevard for Jimmy Kimmel Live, Van Halen’s frontman David Lee Roth spun a microphone stand so enthusiastically he cut his nose open.

Roth, 60, left the stage for about 2 minutes to tend to his nose before returning and explaining that he, “f—ed my nose up on the microphone here, so I’m gonna wear the Band-Aid and we’re gonna start the whole thing all over for you. We’ll give you a little extra for your patience here. Work with us if you will… How do I look? Like f—in’ Hiawatha?” he said.

Kimmel later explained the incident and replayed it in slow motion. Kimmel stated that although Roth initially duct taped his nose back together, a later trip to the hospital resulted in 14 stitches. With plenty of time to let his nose heal, Roth isn’t set to tour with Van Halen until this July.
