Two Pensioners Barricade Robber In Shop

A 19-year-old robber was stopped in his tracks by two pass-byers who, after realizing what was happening, barricaded him in the shop, and the whole situation was caught on tape, reports the Telegraph. Two Manchester pensioners, Ron Smith, 78, and Robert Anderson, 72, kept tight grip of the door as the robber tried to flee the scene. The heroes were filmed by the CCTV cameras as they didn’t let go of the door no matter how strongly the robber pushed.

The robber was armed with a knife, and after making the shop assistant fill his bag with cash and cigarettes, he tries to leave, at first through the front door and then through the back. In the end, he panics and runs upstairs, climbing through a window and jumping onto the roof of a van. He was immediately grabbed by builders who stopped by to help the pensioners in the meantime. The robber pleaded guilty to robbery and is serving a two year sentence.
