But in the beginning, Tommy’s new band, Suite 19, was a regular on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip club circuit, and he earned the moniker “T-Bone” due to his 6′ foot 2 inches (1.89m) in height and lean physique. Tommy Lee met Nikki Sixx, and they formed a band together. Guitarist Mick Mars soon joined the band too. Seeking a charismatic leader, Lee introduced the others to vocalist Vince Neil; Neil quickly joined and Mötley Crüe was born.
