NASA Announces Discovery Of Running Salt Water On Mars

Recently, NASA announced that it was going to be making a major announcement about a “mystery” about Mars that had been answered. The space agency held a press conference on Monday morning in order to tell the world their rover had actually discovered there was running briny water on the surface of the Red Planet.

Our quest on Mars has been to ‘follow the water,’ in our search for life in the universe, and now we have convincing science that validates what we’ve long suspected,” said John Grunsfeld, astronaut and associate administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington. “This is a significant development, as it appears to confirm that water — albeit briny — is flowing today on the surface of Mars.”

Scientists who appeared at the press conference talked about the implications of this finding, saying it would most likely lead to the discovery of some sort of life on the planet. More concretely, the existence of flowing water would have an impact on missions to Mars because it could be used to create rocket fuel and supply basecamps once the water had been purified.
