Mitt Romney Will Square Off Against Evander Holyfield In The Ring
In the political arena, an especially mean-spirited comment is usually referred to as a jab. Mitt Romney has certainly taken and dished out plenty of rhetorical jabs in his days. Does that mean he’ll be able to stand up against real jabs, uppercuts and body blows when he faces off against Evander Holyfield in the boxing ring? It looks like we’ll get to find out. The former Heavyweight champion and the perennial Presidential candidate and former Governor of Massachusetts have scheduled an exhibition match in Salt Lake City for May 15th.
When talking to the Salt Lake City Tribune, the politician was forthcoming about his chances of actually winning a bout against Holyfield. “It will either be a very short fight, or I will be knocked unconscious,” Romney told the paper. “It won’t be much of a fight. We’ll both suit up and get in the ring and spar around a little bit.”
The event is part of a number of different boxing matches that will take place on May 15th, all as a means of generating money for a Utah charity that provide medical equipment for poorer areas all over the world. It’s not known exactly how this particular matchup was dreamed up but it stands to reason it wasn’t an idea first planned by Mitt Romney.
