Miami Man Renting Out Luxury Cars In Exchange For Guns

Rashawn Welch is a 48-year-old businessman in Miami, Florida, and he’s sick of violence happening around him so he’s trying to get rid of guns his own way. Welch owns luxury rental business 305 Elite, and he is offering anyone a night out in one of his vehicles in exchange for turning over a gun.

Welch said “I’m just trying to get [guns] off the street, no matter what,” and he’s currently working with Miami Gardens Police Department who he hands the weapons to. This cause is near and dear to Welch’s heart, as he spent five years in prison when he was younger after living a not-so-lawful life. The vehicles that he has on offer range from Rolls-Royces, Porches, Mercedes, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Bentleys.

“Why would I turn in a gun for a $200 gift card at Target when I could sell it on the street for $500? It doesn’t make sense” Welch said.

Recently, a local high school student called Welch and said that he had an AR-15 to trade in, so Welch is sending the anonymous teen to his high school prom in style. The student will be turning up in a 2015 Rolls -Royce Ghost, along with his very own chauffeur. Renting this car for a single night would set you back around $1,000 – so that’s a pretty good deal.

“If I have to do 100 cars for 100 guns then that’s what I’m going to do.”
