Iggy Azalea’s Tour Gets Cancelled

Iggy Azalea was forced to scrap the entirety of her The Great Escape Tour, Celebuzz reports. Despite saying earlier this year that her North American stadium tour was only “postponed” due to production deadlines, the Australian rapper finally announced on Friday that all of dates in the singer’s first headlining tour have been cancelled. People who bought the tickets were only notified by email, which reads: “The Iggy Azalea Great Escape Tour scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase. There will be a new tour planned around Iggy’s new record to be released in 2016 and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

In March, The Wrap reported about dates being pushed back because the singer didn’t engage in any promotion for the tour. Add the general lack of interest and low ticket sales, and the cancellation of the whole tour was the only logical step. Azalea was also rumored to have become “increasingly unresponsive to her management” and had “disengaged from her core team” altogether. After the announcement came that the shows have been delayed, both openers for the tour – Nick Jonas and Tinashe took the chance to drop out and no replacements were announced since then. This news comes after the recent petition to have Azalea’s Billboard Award revoked. 2015 doesn’t seem to be the year of Iggy Azalea.
