Four Men Arrested For Stealing 1,200 Laptops

Saying that Apple has made some in-demand products over the years is a pretty big understatement. People are willing to go to great lengths to get their hands on the latest technology — and even take some big risks. Now four men have likely found that the risk wasn’t worth it; they were caught and charged with the theft of nearly 1,200 MacBook Airs.

That translates to more than a million dollars’ worth of merchandise, even if it’s in laptop form — which means that the quartet landed in serious trouble. Worse yet, the evidence has piled up against them; cell phone records and video surveillance have shown that multiple steps of the incident — including the original theft of the laptop-carrying truck — were the result of the four men. More specifically, those steps were the result of a poor cover-up, with contradictions in the story that include the truck’s route and its fateful spotting at a 7-11.

The intent behind the theft wasn’t to simply hoard MacBook Airs; it was part of a plan to sell the laptops at a lower price for easy profits. Notably, the laptops were originally intended for use in two New Jersey high schools. With justice served, hopefully those schools can get back on track.
