Former Pro Wrestler Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka Charged With Murder

Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka is back in the spotlight, decades after retiring from professional wrestling. It’s a safe bet that the man who was one of the most popular performers in the sport in the 1980’s would rather have stayed in the shadows. Jimmy Snuka has been arrested and charged with third degree murder after the investigation of the death of his girlfriend back in 1983 was reopened. Rolling Stone reports that Snuka was arrested Tuesday morning and is being held under a $100,000 bond.

At issue is the mysterious death of Nancy Argentino. The woman died while she was sharing a motel room with the former wrestler and at the time, there was suspicion that he might have had something to do with it. Despite the prosecutors feeling as though there was a chance he killed Argentino, Jimmy Snuka was allowed to go free. A year ago, a grand jury was convened and the indictment process began rolling again. Officials say that Superfly was arrested in part because of a never before seen autopsy report that implicates the man in Argentino’s death.
