Firey Explosion Erupts On US Military Base In Japan

There was an explosion at an U.S. military facility just after midnight in Sagamihara, Japan. Local emergency crews were dispatched immediately in order to combat the fire to prevent it from spreading throughout Sagamihara city, which also borders Tokyo.

The building where the explosion occurred is located within the U.S. Army post. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The firefighters and first responders appeared at the location and were able to prevent the fire from spreading, according to the Pentagon spokesman U.S. Navy Commander Bill Urban.

Following the fire people took to their social media accounts to upload pictures of the fire. The photos showed how extreme the explosion was and how high the smoke and flames rose from the structure. There were also videos uploaded with sound bites of several loud booms coming from the burning building. Helicopters were also spotted in the area, possibly filming the building as it burned.
