91 Year-Old Shoots At Landscapers For Getting Grass On His Car

A local senior from Avon Park, Florida, is currently being charged with attempted murder after he brandished a firearm and opened fire on a group of landscapers who got grass clippings on his car. Max Horton, who is 91 was at his residence in Palo Verde Drive when landscaper Robert Hendrix accidentally tossed some lawn clippings on the man’s car. An argument between the two ensued, and then turned violent as Horton pulled a pistol and ordered the landscaper to get on his knees. Horton claimed he was going to shoot the man there and then.

Hendrix managed to disarm the elderly man, and his partner Johnny Barnes, subdued him until the local police arrived. Horton was taken to Highlands Regional Medical Center for treatment after the altercation. The older man was unable to go to Florida Hospital, as he had made threats against the staff there previously.

Horton is being held without bond, charged with attempted first-degree murder.
