‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Sequel Cast Confirmed And First Photos Revealed

Every once in a while, something extraordinary comes about that is worthy of great celebration. In 2001, that something extraordinary was Wet Hot American Summer, written by famously oddball friends Michael Showalter and David Wain and directed by the latter who also gave the world Role Models and Wanderlust. And now after 15 years, the crazy councilors and staff over at the notorious Camp Firewood – all played by the first film’s original cast who all happen to be hugely famous – are getting another moment in the sun in the Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.

While the original film focused on just a single day at summer camp, the series will take place two weeks before the film’s events. The show brings back Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, Janeane Garofalo, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, and three-time Oscar-nominee Bradley Cooper. So are you absolutely bursting to see a bunch of forty and fifty-somethings playing a bunch of weird teenage camp councilors? Well, even if you aren’t, brace yourself, because they are coming. First Day of Camp arrives on Netflix on July 31st.
