Teacher Forces Child To Not Write With His “Evil” Left Hand
A teacher from Oklahoma is under investigation after she allegedly forced a 4-year-old child to stop using his left hand for writing because she felt that it was associated with the devil and being evil. Alisha Sans noticed her son was writing awkwardly with his right hand rather than his left and was told by Zayde that his teacher had told him to stop using his left because it was bad.
“From picking things up to throwing things, to batting, to writing, to just coloring you’d do at home with him, he’s always, always used his left hand,” Alisha Sands said. “I just asked ‘Is there anything his teachers ever asked about his hands?’ And he raises this one and says this one’s bad.”
Alisha contacted the teacher who then wrote a letter back explaining that the use of the left hand is considered evil and is widely associated with Satan. The mother then tried to escalate the issue with officials at the school but they refused to discipline the kindergarten teacher, leaving Alisha having to choose to transfer Zayde to a new class.
