She’s All That Gets A 21st Century Remake

Famous author Mark Twain was quoted as saying, “There’s no such thing as a new idea. Its impossible.” This concept has never been more clear with Hollywood stuck in a rut of making a remaking the same stories, most of the time quite needlessly — especially since nothing new is ever really brought to the original thought. But now the powers that be have decided it is going to delve into a niche film genre that happens to be sacred especially to those who grew up in the nineties.

She’s All That was part of the subset of 90’s teen comedies that adapted classic literature, in this case Pygmalion, to the world of high school. At the time of its release in 1999, it starred the then extremely popular Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook as the hunky jock and the awkward wallflower he has been tasked to transform into the prom queen; it also co-starred the late Paul Walker as Prinze’s character’s best friend. Infamous director Spike Lee’s wife Tonya Lewis Lee is set to direct, but no script has been written and no actors have been cast.
