Real-Life Superhero Stops An Attempted Murder

As painful as it may be to admit, the superheroes that fly across the pages of comic books may never make it to the real world. The most anyone can hope for are some screen time in movies and fans playing dress-up — but even then, it’s not a major loss. Some people are more than willing to take the ideas to heart; in this instance, one man chose to get much more proactive.

Unbelievable as it may sound, Seattle is no stranger to superheroes — Phoenix Jones well among them. He’s already lent a hand in the past, but was forced into action while on patrol one night. He spotted three suspects as they assaulted a man, so he began his pursuit while they made their exit; Jones managed to attack and ultimately pin down a gunman, but still had to deal with two more men who tried to strike. The hero had to fall back, but he gave the police the chance they needed to step in and arrest the suspects.

It’s very likely that the story would have had an unhappier ending if the police hadn’t intervened, which Jones made sure to note. Though the Seattle Police Department thanked him, he thanked them right back, and made sure to explain on Instagram how important it is to trust the law. Costumed or not, it looks like heroes walk among the common man.
