Man Caught Doing 112mph On Way To Court For Speeding

A man was pulled over by police in Vermont for breaking the speed limit only to learn that he was actually travelling to court to attend a hearing for previous speeding offence. Officers tracked the driver at 112mph on the interstate and pulled him over after he began weaving dangerously through traffic.

The speed limit on the interstate is just 65mph, meaning that the 33-year-old man was travelling almost twice as fast as permitted on the road. Royalton trooper Rich Slusser explained that the driver, Seth Tichenor, had told them he was on his way to court after they stopped him on Interstate 89. The police then charged him with excessive speeding and negligent operation, ordering him to appear at Vermont Superior Court in October.

It’s unknown whether he made it to court to attend his previous hearing, though he was likely very late. The presiding judge is unlikely to be sympathetic that he was pulled over and stopped for speeding while on his way.
