Five Charged For Murder After Guy Dies During Fraternity Initiation Ceremony

Five individuals of a United States college fraternity are currently being charged with third degree murder after a new member died during his initiation. Chun ‘Michael’ Deng was just 19-years-old when he died after being tackled to the ground and knocked unconscious. The young college student was forced to carry a 30-pound rucksack during the ‘hazing’ session before he was tackled.

Following the incident, members of Pi Delta Psi waited about an hour to drive the young man to the hospital. During that hour, police said the group were ‘concealing or destroying evidence’ in an effort to avoid any charges by the police. Upon arriving at the hospital, doctors discovered Deng had suffered from severe blunt force trauma to his head, chest, and legs. He died from his injuries later on.

In total, 32 members of the fraternity have been expelled and permanently excluded from Baruch College in New York. All 32 are being charged with aggravated assault, hindering apprehension, hazing, and offering false information to police.
