Dozens Of Hungry Bears Invade Russian Town

It’s worth noting upfront that not a lot of people — if any — would willingly get close to a bear. Tey’re massive animals packed with raw power, so avoiding one of them in the wild is a solid idea. Avoiding dozens of them at once is an even better idea — but as it turns out, one Russian town has had to deal with more than thirty bears at once.

Reportedly, Luchegorsk has felt the brunt of what might as well be an invasion — least of all because of the two large bears that walk the streets. Plenty more bears circle the town on a regular basis, to the point where townsfolk are warned not to go outside. It’s more than a friendly suggestion; the bears have been left hungry thanks to poor food yields, which unsurprisingly led to attacks on people unlucky enough to cross their paths.

Thankfully, the people of Luchegorsk have managed to push back against the bears with warning shots, sirens, and fire hoses. The local animal control department says that things have stabilized, so the town isn’t exactly a lost cause. With that said, the bears have proven one thing: when they don’t eat, they can show in an instant why they shouldn’t be taken lightly.
