Australian Government Considering Castration For Pedophiles

Throughout New South Wales, Australia, a police task force is currently debating whether or not they should use drugs to ‘chemically castrate’ child sex offenders. The state is already using such controversial drugs on a completely voluntary basis for pedophiles, but a new law is being considered that would mean the offender could be convicted to take the drug involuntarily. The anti-libido drug will reduce sexual desire and can even remove the ability to perform in any sexual manner whatsoever.

New South Wales Justice Minister Troy Grant, speaking on the drug, said: “One of the worrying statistics that came out of our investigation is that up to 17 per cent of child sex offenders are likely to reoffend in two years. We must do everything possible to reduce that figure.”

It is unclear whether the law is moving forward or even has enough support to at the moment, but we’ll be sure to keep everyone up to date on whether or not it happens.
