Angry Woman Punches ‘Painted Lady’ In Times Square

Not all New Yorkers have accepted the ‘Painted Lady‘ who parades around Times Square without a shirt on. Instead, she’ll have various shirts painted on her body and she certainly gets all kinds of attention from bystanders — good and bad. One woman simply had enough of it.

A brawl ensued when the offended woman, Angela L. Portalatin, approached Amanda Roman and threw a jab in the Painted Lady’s face. A bystander nearby commented on the incident, saying “Some girl from out of nowhere said, ‘You nasty! I don’t like the way you look,’ and then punched her in the face for no reason,” Mitchell Norman, 29, said, adding “She knocked her out of nowhere.”

Roman did nothing to provoke an attack. The “Painted Lady” was interacting with tourists before Portalatin decided to turn around and interject. Portalatin called Roman a “nasty whore” before they brawled on the sidewalk. When police arrived, Roman had to wear a shirt while both her and Portalatin were hauled off away in handcuffs. Portalatin and Roman are due to appear in court later this week.
