15 Injured In Bus Explosion In Southern China


On Monday night at approximately 6.30 pm, fifteen people were injured after a bus exploded in Leshan, Sichuan province in China. Of the fifteen injured, twelve were passengers who escaped from the vehicle shortly after the explosion whilst it erupted into a big ball of fire, which also injured three nearby pedestrians.

Leshan Public Security Bureau have said that they are currently investigating a 31-year-old male suspect, however have not yet released any additional details. All of the fifteen individuals injured in the blast were treated at a nearby hospital, with one in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

In footage recorded by nearby CCTV cameras, the bus stops and allows some passengers off the bus before the explosion occurs. Moments after the explosion occurs, one of the passengers leaps out of the window. Additional footage of the incident is recorded by a bystander, showing people scrambling to assist those who have been injured.
