Woman’s Body Stolen From Casket At Funeral Home


Police are desperately trying to track down the person who stole a corpse from a funeral home in San Antonio, Texas. The dead body is that of 25 year old Julie Mott, who passed away from cystic fibrosis on August 8th, and was slated to be cremated after the funeral.

Julie’s body was reportedly taken from her casket at the Mission Park North Funeral Chapel, after the service which took place on what would have been her 26th birthday, on August 15th. After the service, the casket was taken into a private visitation area in the back of the funeral home and locked up.

According to USA Today, “The next morning when they came back to the funeral home, they discovered that the casket Ms. Mott had been in for the service was actually empty… Her remains had been removed.

Police have identified a potential suspect; a man whose identity has not yet been released. The man was obsessively texting and calling Mott before her death, however his relationship to Mott is currently unknown, but he is said to be in his twenties. Mission Parks Funeral Home is offering $20,000 to help catch the person responsible.
