Passenger Punches Young Stewardess Because He Was Waiting Too Long For A Sandwich

An EasyJet flight made an emergency landing in Rome, Italy, when an irate passenger hit a flight attendant just because he was waiting too long for a sandwich. The angry passenger shouted, “I’ve been waiting for hours. I’m hungry,” then attacked the young cabin crew member. The drama happened on a flight from Geneva to Pristina, Kosovo, on Tuesday morning.

A witness who was sitting near the angry man said, “He shouted at the stewardess, then he stood up and punched her. And when she fell to the floor, he carried on hitting her.” Several other passengers then detained the man while the pilot diverted the plane to Fiumicino Airport in the capital city of Italy for security reasons.

The flight attendant said, “I was totally shocked. I can’t understand how anyone could react so violently over a sandwich.” According to an eyewitness, the Italian police then arrested the man while the flight attendant received medical treatment.

EasyJet, a British low-cost airline, confirmed the attack and said the flight attendant was injured and her glasses were broken. A total of 180 passengers were then transported to Pristina on a separate flight on Tuesday afternoon.
