Man Sues Actress For Staring At Him Through TV And Causing Spiritual Damage

A man from China is suing a famous actress for staring at him too intensely through the television. Zhao Wei is one of China’s most famous actresses and she has been starring in Tiger Mom since it premiered in May, but it looks like she might be too good for her role.

The man filed the case in the People’s Court of Shanghai Pudong’s New District and it states that he has become upset with Wei’s intense stares and these stares have caused “spiritual damage” for himself. Apparently on the show, Wei plays a mother that is “emotionally unstable” and she is often giving intense stares to both her husband and her daughter.

China recently changed the rules for filing lawsuits, which has lead to an increase in the number of lawsuits filed and has them concerned over frivolous lawsuits being filed. These new regulations make it more difficult for courts to reject cases, which is why this Shanghai man is allowed to sue Zhao Wei. He is seeking compensation for the “spiritual damages.”
