Lil’ Chris, whose real name is Chris Hardman, rose to prominence following his appearance in Rock School in 2006. The 24-year-old starred in the Channel 4 television series. Hardman turned to music not long after appearing on television, with his first hit single, ‘Checkin’ It Out‘. Lil’ Chris’ last single, Christmas Number One, was released in December 2013. Suffolk Police have said they are not treating his death as suspicious. Reports of a man dying suddenly were called in to the police to an address on Union Road in Lowestoft around 11:45 GMT. A post-mortem exam is set to take place on Lil’ Chris, and a spokeswoman has said a file will be released to the coroner.

Gene Simmons, who was also featured within Rock School as the music teacher, led tributes to him. The Kiss singer said “He was loved.” Numerous celebrities from around the world have shown their support on social media and displayed their sadness for the loss.
