Insanely Expensive Car Ruined By Can Of Paint

Car insurance these days is pretty much capable of covering the worst of accidents for when you’re driving around in an insanely expensive sports car. Fortunately, insurance sometimes covers the little things that shouldn’t be such a big deal but truly are, such as when you drive around at high speeds with an open can of paint, reports The Mirror.

One man decided to drive his luxury sports car – a Maserati – around with a tin of paint sitting in the interior. According to the insurance agency, RAA Insurance, the man was driving the Maserati with the paint in the back when he swerved to avoid hitting a dog in the middle of the road. The paint, unfortunately, flew through the air, causing quite a mess.

The company said: “As the tin flew around the car like a mini tornado, the leather interior and windscreen were liberally splashed with a thick coat of white paint, Fortunately the driver was fine, but given the extent of damage to the interior, our insurance assessors declared it a write off and we settled the claim for over $90,000.”

Both the driver and the dog are fine, thankfully.
