Grandma Skydives For Her 100th Birthday

Uncategorized

Australia, the oddball of countries, manages to prove its adventurous nature every now and then by making headlines. Such was the case last week, when a 91-year-old grandma Joy Jeffers decided to jump from a plane at 14,000 ft. for the RSPCA’s Parachute for Paws campaign. However, this time Africa responded and in a way managed to one-up Australia.

Enter 100-year-old Georgia Hardwood!

While the century old great-grandma acted out of the will for pure joy and not in support of a cause, she definitely did the unthinkable. Strapping a parachute to her chest, the South African woman took a sky dive above Cape Town, while her friends and family watched. The occasion for her crazy stunt? The celebration of her 100th birthday.

Of course, this is not the first crazy experience for Georgia Hardwood. In fact, this is her third actual skydiving jump, since she turned 92 in 2007. While the woman does agree that the jump was “wonderful, exhilarating and special,” she is not as satisfied with the adrenaline induced by a 125 mph plummet to Earth.

Having that in mind, Georgia has planned something ever more special in the upcoming days – a Shark cage dive in the South Atlantic Sea.

Now that’s one crazy grandma!
