‘Friday’ Returning To Cinemas On 4/20

In honor of its 20th anniversary, the popular film from 1995, Friday, will be re-released in theaters on none other than national cannabis smoking day, April 20th or 4/20. The film will be a special director’s cut edition and will only be available in 400 theaters across the U.S.

The film will be shown in theaters one night only and will be available simultaneously on Monday, April 20th at 7:30 p.m. locally. Friday’s special 20th anniversary release will include a 24-minute feature titled ‘Friday Straight Up’ that has a behind the scenes look with the cast as well as interviews.

Beginning April 14th, the Friday soundtrack will also be re-released on vinyl. Back in 1995, the soundtrack hit number one in the U.S. Billboard charts and held that position for two weeks. The soundtrack eventually sold over 2 million copies, making it certified double platinum. Tickets for the special 4/20 Friday 20th anniversary are available to purchase now.
