English Politician Quits After Taking Drugs With Prostitutes

One of the most senior peers in the House of Lords, the United Kingdom’s house of reform, has been forced to resign as deputy speaker after video footage emerged of him apparently taking drugs in the company of prostitutes.

Lord Sewel was a former leading member of the Labour Party before he became independent in 2012 to carry out his roles in the House of Lords. Following a report in the Sun published on Sunday, the politician can be seen snorting white powder while wearing women’s underwear.

The scandal has provoked widespread damnation from other senior politicians and Lords, with many suggesting that Sewel should quit the upper house altogether to save it from any further embarrassment. The matter has also been referred to House of Lords commissioner for standards, meaning that he could face further punishment from the Standards Committee and expelled from his roles. The Metropolitan Police have also been informed and could launch a criminal investigation in Sewel’s actions.
