Couple Arrested Over Changing Room Sex Tape In China
In Beijing China, police have detained a couple plus three other people over a sex tape shot in a Uniqlo store in Beijing. The tape was leaked online and went viral all over China. It showed a naked woman and a mostly clothed man having sex in the changing room of the said Uniqlo clothing store.
The sex video immediately spread on China’s web service WeChat and Weibo. The Uniqlo store instantly became an infamous tourist spot, where people took selfies outside the outlet and the changing room, mimicking the poses seen in the scandalous sex tape. According to Rappler, the couple were detained on Wednesday July 15th, just a few hours after the footage leaked online and went viral.
Cyberspace Administration of China or CAC, China’s regulator for World Wide Web content, said the distribution of the footage was ‘against socialist core values’. CAC is aggressive in blocking sites that have pornographic, violent and politically sensitive content — even big, international web sites such as Twitter, YouTube and Facebook cannot be accessed in the country.
Uniqlo issued the following statement in response to the incident: “As a responsible international brand, Uniqlo is dedicated to providing consumers with safe, comfortable and quality shopping experiences and locations. We would like to remind all customers to abide by society’s moral standard; and properly & appropriately use our fitting rooms.”
