Zoo Keeper In New Zealand Mauled To Death By Tiger

The same tragedy managed to repeat itself within a course of a week when yet another Sumatran Tiger attacked and killed a zookeeper in Hamilton, New Zealand. Authorities have not yet identified the victim of the brutal attack, but it is clear that a dangerous trend is developing around the world.

The tiger at the centre of the incident is Oz, the only male Sumatran tiger in Hamilton Zoo. He is only one of five tigers in the popular zoo, located 78 miles from Auckland. Police reports confirm that the victim was a woman, and that she was dead before any help could arrive on the scene. Zoo authorities have offered their deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased along with other employees who may have been traumatized by the brutal attack.

Despite the gravity of the situation and the emerging trend of animals attacking zookeepers around the world, public support has been largely in favor of the caged animal, with many people voicing out their opinion against euthanizing the tiger. One comment on Facebook read “Working with animals comes with known risks. Please don’t kill the tiger for being a tiger“.
