Studies Show That Weed Kills Cancer Cells

US government reports show that cannabis “maybe useful in treating the side effects of cancer and cancer treatment“, which has been published on US government’s official cancer advice web site. The study was conducted by Complutense University & the University of Anglia in the UK.

Researchers induced tumors on mice using human breast cancer cell samples. Experiments conducted on mice show that cannabinoids may stop tumor growth. This happens through blocking of cell growth and development of blood vessels needed by tumors to grow.

Cannabinoids are compounds naturally occurring in cannabis plants, which humans can consume via smoking, eating or drinking. Cannabis could lead to possible benefits such as reliving muscle spasms by sclerosis, anti-inflammation and anti-viral activity.

A lot of pro-marijuana activists cite the plant’s medicinal benefits to support its legalization, and this news can further strengthen their stance.
