Spirit Airline’s Controversial $69 Round-Trip Deal Stirs Up Trouble

Spirit Airlines is currently promoting a new $69-round trip promotion for their air travel service. It’s hard to argue with a price as low as that, especially when a round-trip plane ride can cost upwards of $2000 or more. Their marketing strategy, however, has led to some juvenile controversy.

Spirit Airlines recently released their 69th airplane to the world. The advertisement reads:

We’ve been waiting to hit 69 planes for years. It’s our favorite number – ever since we were twelve and found that magazine under our brother’s bed (the one with the fantastic articles). #69 is perfect: just the right size, with a cockpit that’s in your face (because it’s bright yellow). Use your mouth to spread the word: Spirit is in an even better position to get you where you’re going. We’re popping an epic Bare Fare in celebration! $69.00* round trip!

A spokesman for Spirit Airlines said it was not atypical of the company to offer such types of advertisements for their customers. Spirit has always tried to be different from the competition, and saving their customers money has always been a goal for them. The spokesman said they enjoy having fun and connecting with their market.
