South Carolina Senator Launches Into Bizarre Gay Marriage Rant During Confederate Flag Debate

The debate over the Confederate Flag is really starting to heat up and it appears the pressure is getting to some members of the South Carolina legislature. On Monday, during debate over taking the flag down from in front of the statehouse, Senator Lee Bright digressed, in the most bizarre of ways. According to Fox Carolina, Senator Lee Bright said that the state needed to be debating Gay Marriage instead of the Confederate Flag. While that particular comment wasn’t all that weird, it’s how Bright decided to start that debate.

“It’s time to make our stand and we’re not doing it. We can rally together and talk about a flag all we want but the Devil is taking control of this land and we’re not stopping him.” The devil wasn’t the only mention Bright made when it came to America apparently syncing into the abyss. Bright’s long rant included the fact that one minute, the President was singing a hymn and the next, the White House was covered in the “abomination colors.”

Clearly, not everyone is even remotely OK with the state of this country, the interesting thing is the lengths with which they’re willing to go to voice their displeasure.
