Soccer Referee Pulls Gun On Player Who Kicked Him

Amateur soccer is quite common throughout the world, but it is nowhere near as popular elsewhere as it is in Brazil, where the sport is basically the livelihood of a vast majority of the nation. Unfortunately, some chaos descended upon one local game after a referee reacted a bit too harshly over the weekend.

The referee in question, Gabriel Murta, who was simply kicked by one of the amateur soccer players during the game, decided it was his best course of action to pull a gun on the player.

Murta was in charge of the weekend soccer game between Brumadinho and Amates da Bola. Midway through the competitive match, however, one of the players lashed out at the ref and struck him with a swift kick. Murta, a policeman, took off, leaving the field and everyone on it. He then returned from the field’s dressing room, brandishing his work firearm in one hand.

Murta waved the handgun around in the air. Thankfully, one of the game’s linesmen managed to talk the cop down, and no one was injured during the soccer match. Murta has been forced into a psychological evaluation after this little incident, and is expected to receive a long suspension or permanent ban.
