Small Town Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of Alien Sighting

We’ve wondered for decades, if not centuries, whether or not humans are alone in the universe. Aerospace engineers have done their best to find that answer one way or another, but for now, some people already have their convictions. As it so happens, an entire town felt the alien fever — if only for a little while.

Exeter, New Hampshire played host to Norman Muscarello, who would go on to become part of the navy — but back in 1965, he and several other townsfolk claimed to have seen a UFO. The sighting garnered so much attention that even the Air Force investigated, and the country itself eyed the town as a result. Things have naturally calmed down since then, but with the milestone 50th anniversary in the midst, the people of Exeter — and well beyond, including UFO seekers and true believers — were invited to celebrate.

Whether they believe it or not, anyone interested in the event — one that brought in as many as seven hundred curious visitors — could see experts trade info and walk away with space-themed souvenirs. Some may say that Muscarello only saw a plane flying that fateful night, but even so, he set the stage for plenty of galactic fun.
