San Francisco Is Increasing The Number Of Walls That Spray Pee On People

The city of San Francisco have announced their plans to install more walls that are painted with pee-repellent paint, which will stop individuals from urinating in public. Basically, these walls bounce the urine back onto the person using the bathroom, spraying them with their own pee instead of coating the public wall.

Public Works Director Mohammed Nuru has said that eight more walls are being painted with this new pee-repellent paint within the next three weeks. These walls will be within problem neighborhoods, though.

Eight walls may not seem like a lot, but it will double what has already been done within the city. Last July, the public works department painted a total of nine walls, including those in Tenderloin, the Mission, and South of Market.

Signs will be posted on each wall, reading: “Hold it! This wall is not a public restroom. Please respect San Francisco and seek relief in an appropriate place.”
