Road Rage Driver Accidentally Shoots Himself While Threatening Family

A man unintentionally shot himself in the leg while he was waving a gun at a family in Florida during a road rage incident The driver, who was in an expensive silver Mercedes, was weaving in and out of traffic across multiple lanes when he tried to pull in front of Melissa Drake. The mother then sounded her horn before the man stopped his car and forced her to slam on her own brakes.

The man then drove slowly past them wild brandishing a handgun and later a large rifle with a scope. Drake, terrified because of the fact that she had her three children in the car with her, quickly phoned 911 and was told to drive away from the incident and keep moving. “My son and I looked at each other right at the same time and said, ‘Is that a gun?’” Drake said. “Who on this Earth would point a weapon at a child?

However, as she drove away other witnesses saw the driver jump out of his car in extreme pain. He collapsed moments later on the floor holding his leg while blood poured out of a large wound. An ambulance then took him to hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound he had apparently inflicted while waving the guns in his car.

Police are still investigating the incident but they have not arrested the man as he is still being treated in hospital.
