Police Are Shocked When A Utah Driver Returns Huge Sack Of Money

On Tuesday, Dan Kennedy of Utah was driving down I-80, close to the Salt Lake City International Airport. Up ahead, he saw a large orange bag bounce out of a truck. He was worried that the orange bag would be hazard for other drivers, and since it was early, he pulled over and removed the bag from the highway.

Kennedy told Utah’s Desert News that “I thought it was going to be light. I reached down to grab it, and I couldn’t move it.” Confused, Kennedy then opened the bag and found it was full of money. Specifically, the large orange bag was full of smaller bags, and each of these bags had bundles of $50 and $100 bills. Kennedy realized that the truck that dropped the bag was a Brink’s armored vehicle.

Kennedy was unable to chase down the Brink’s vehicle, so he proceeded to his work and then called the police, who soon showed up. The police were stunned, “that sack of money was sitting there, and they all just kind of just looked at it stunned for a minute,” Kennedy said. “They all stepped back and watched.” The officers applauded Kennedy’s instincts to promptly return the bag. Kennedy claimed he never thought about taking it. “I didn’t really think about anything else besides returning it” he said.
