Pastor Drops Dead After Saying “If The Lord Called Me Now, I’m Ready To Go.”

Kenneth Green, loving husband, father, and pastor, collapsed and died in the middle of a sermon on Sunday, May 3rd. He was only 56-years-old, leaving behind his wife and three children. Church members were shocked as the saw him take one last sip of water and wipe his face. He looked up “like there was no life in his eyes” and tumbled. Autopsy results are still pending.

The sermon which he was giving on Sunday was titled “Down But Not Out“. He was preaching about the Psalms. Church member, Joan Martin, remembers that, “…he had mentioned that the if the Lord called me now ‘I’m ready to go,'”

He had served as pastor of Greater Saint Mary Baptist Church of New Orleans for eight years. He was known for his service to the sick and the homeless. “Remember his love for God and the work he did for God, and how he tried to be everything for everybody,” asked Martin.
