New Reporter Almost Gets Into A Brawl With Baltimore Protester

A brave state senator showed poise and diplomacy during the Baltimore uprising in front of cameras and a group of angry protesters. Maryland state Senator Majority Leader Catherine Pugh was successful in persuading Fox News and news anchor Geraldo Rivera to shut down its inflammatory coverage of the huge Baltimore protests. Her demeanor swiftly defused a confrontation that was brewing between Geraldo and other irate protesters. One man in particular yelled, “Don’t touch me!” when Geraldo tried to push him out of the camera’s view.

We want the media to move back,” Catherine Pugh told Rivera after several demonstrators nearly interrupted their interview on the streets of the city in front of frustrated protesters. When Geraldo’s anger grew at a man in front of the camera, he said it seemed like those in the crowd “want trouble,” Pugh sternly told him that wasn’t the case and shut his statement down. “No, they don’t want trouble,” she said. “We want our people to go home, but we also need the media to move back, because this is just inciting people.
