Military Personnel Have Been Tasked With Fighting Wildfires

The wildfires in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada and Colorado are so out of control that they have actually called in 200 military personnel to help fight the fires. These troops are not used to fighting fire and this is the first time since 2006 that they have been called out to do this kind of work.

The troops will be doing smaller jobs such as fighting small fires and digging fire lines. This is great, though, because it will let the more experienced fire fighters be where they need to and out fighting the fires. This is not something that is normally done though. Since 1987, they have used troops only 35 times to help fight forest fires.

The fact that they have called out the troops to help them shows how crazy these wild fires are at this time. Hopefully they can get things under control very soon and let the troops go back to their normal work.
