Man Wins $7 Million On Lottery Ticket He Received In A Get-Well Card
A Pennsylvania man was at home recovering from a recent surgery when he received a get-well card from his father, which happened to include some scratch-off lottery tickets. Joseph Amorese is still in shock after scratching them and finding out he won $7 million on one of those tickets. Amorese, who works at Verizon, had the perfect reaction: “I scratched the ticket, and it was a good thing I was already sitting down, because I was shocked. I was and still am in complete disbelief.”
He wasn’t sure if it was real or not, so he took a picture of the Golden Ticket scratch card and sent it to his father, who lives in Congers, New York, to make sure he was reading it correctly. His Dad confirmed it, so then it was time to share the news with his wife: “I said, ‘Honey, I think we won $7,000,000.’ And there was silence on the other end for a long time. She was too stunned to talk.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Just a Dollar in New City, New York, and the father did not share if he’ll get any of the winnings, but was very happy for his son.
